Hussein Ssenoga: Versatile midfielder earns UPL return with Lugazi FC in second Round

A career filled with ups and downs, bossed by injuries at a point when many thought it was heading to the peak is what some would compliment when they look at Hussein Ssenoga.

Despite times of little, moderate or No pay, his passion was in no doubt as Ssenoga managed to make a name for himself at one of Uganda’s traditional Clubs, Express FC.

Coming in to then a Wankulukuku based side, the Youthful Red hot star arrived after a successful stint in Free Stars’ campaigns, winning the team’s Player of the Season awards in both 2019 and 2020.

He went on to transmit the same energy to Uganda Premier League’s Express FC, where he enjoyed two years of first-team football.

After his short return to Free Stars at the start of the current season, a revived Ssenoga contributed a remarkable nine goals and assists in just nine first-round games.

He was sighted by Lugazi FC’s head coach Steven Bogere who floats him above the Regional League level;

On his return to UPL , Bogere expressed confidence that Ssenoga will greatly compliment the team’s offensive play;

“We believe that Hussein’s skill set and his eye for goal will bring a new dimension to our attack.” He said

Adding that; “His performances for Free Stars show he has the potential to make an immediate impact,” the coach stated.

Ssenoga finds Lugazi in 12th position on the Uganda Premier League Log with 14 points.
