Heathens Edge Closer to Uganda Rugby Premiership Semifinals with Victory Over Sharks

Defending Champions Heathens have one foot into the Uganda Rugby Premiership semi finals following today’s win 26:41 win against Victoria Sharks at Kyadondo Rugby grounds today to kick off the this season’s quarter final stage.

Heathens took the lead first with Malcom Okello converting Nickolas Kato’s try, the sharks responded with two penalties and a Maurice Ochieng try converted by Israel Makhoha who later scored his third penalty of the day to give the Varsity side a 16:10 halftime lead.

The sharks only managed one converted try and another Makhoha penalty but couldn’t match up with the second half dominance of the record champions who responded with two unconverted tries from Joseph Oyet, more from Norbert Okeny and Aaron Ofoyrwoth both converted by Malcom Okello and a Sylvester Mumguacel try converted by Ofoyrwoth.

Quarter final action returns on Saturday at Kyadondo with Toyota Buffaloes against KCB KOBs, elsewhere Rhinos will be up against Jinja Hippos at Legends and Walukuba Barbarians face Standbic Black Pirates at the Abel Dhaira grounds in Jinja.
