FUFA Big League new entrants CATDA FC have officially appointed George “Best” Nsimbe as the club’s new head coach. The seasoned tactician has signed a two-year contract as the Kampala-based club prepares for its debut season in Uganda’s second-tier league.
Nsimbe, a former Uganda Cranes midfielder, brings a wealth of experience both as a player and coach. Known for his stylish playing style that earned him the nickname “George Best,” his football journey includes notable stints at Kampala Capital City, NIC, Red Cross, Wandegeya, and the Uganda Cranes.
As a coach, Nsimbe has led some of East Africa’s top clubs, including KCCA FC, Express FC, Vipers SC, Maroons FC, Kyetume FC, Tusker FC (Kenya), and Azam FC (Tanzania). He was most recently in charge of Kiyinda Boys FC before becoming a free agent.
At CATDA, Nsimbe will work closely with Hamid Kibirango, who guided the team to Big League promotion following a thrilling 3-2 aggregate victory over Super Eagles Lugongwe in the FUFA Regional League promotional playoffs.
His appointment represents a bold and strategic move by CATDA FC as the club aims to make a strong impression in the Big League. With Nsimbe’s tactical acumen and proven track record, the club hopes to solidify its position and build a competitive side capable of climbing further up the Ugandan football ladder.
This new chapter signals ambition, experience, and a renewed drive at CATDA FC, with George Best Nsimbe at the helm.
