She Corporate have ended the first round of the FUFA Women’s Super League unbeaten after coming back twice to collect a point from hosts Kampala Queens on Saturday at IUIU Ground, Kabojja.
Kampala Queens were the better side in the first half with the visitors struggling to march them up.
Resty Nanziri put the Queens ahead as early as the fifth minute, pouncing onto a corner kick delivery from Margaret Kunihira which was misread by the She Corporate team players.
But that lead was shortlived as Phiona Nabbumba got the equalizer from a well taken free kick five minutes later, a habit she has adapted of late.
Hosts Kampala Queens had different chances at goal with Nanziri and Shamirah Nalugya getting close to regaining their lead especially through dead ball situations but were denied by She Corporate goalie Daphine Nayenga.
They did regain their lead at hour mark when Nandede dashed to the near post to meet Nalugya’s delivery.
In the second stanza, She Corporate returned recharged with Susan Atim having arguably her best performance this season going up against Queen’s Nabuufu.
Atim deliverd the corner kick that brought the equalizer. It was met by Naome Nagadya who struck into the back of the net with her weaker left foot.
The result means the Nakawa based She Corporate will end the first round of the 2021/2022 FUFA Women Super League unbeaten in 9 games, winning six and drawing 3.
They remain top of the table on 21 points, five ahead of Kampala Queens who are yet to win a game at home this season.
There will be more action in the League on Sunday as Kawempe Muslim Ladies who are fresh from winning a trophy in the school competition in their region host Olila high school, She Maroons visit Tooro Queens at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal and Uganda Martyrs will host UCU Lady Cardinals who go a point off Rines SS in the last minute in Mukono.
NB: All these games will start at 3pm.
