FUFA Referees’ Disciplinary Panel has suspended assistant referees Mbabali Samuel and Hakim Mulindwa from officiating the StarTimes Uganda Premier League games.
Mulindwa was in charge of Matchday 17 game between Express FC and Tooro United while Mbabali was assistant during Arua Hill’s game against Police FC in Arua.
Hakim misraised his flag for offside due to poor positioning that mislead the center referee in cancelling Express’ late goal against Tooro United while Mbabali failed to raise his flag against a player who was clearly offside and led to a goal for Arua Hill against Police.
Following the two referees admitting their mistakes in those separate games, the FUFA Referees’ Disciplinary Panel has decided to suspend them for 24 days from officiating Uganda Premier League games, which starts effectively as on 22nd February.
FUFA has also confirmed that Mbabali and Hakim are allowed to officiate matches in leagues below UPL if they are appointed by the appointment bodies.
According to FUFA, this will enable the pair improve on their officiating until when their suspensions is done.
