The Makindye West Member of Parliament Honorable Allan Ssewanyana has called for a free electoral process after picking up the nomination forms to contest for the FUFA Presidential seat at the FUFA House, Mengo on Tuesday morning.
The Makindye West MP took it to his social media handles, informing the Ugandan football fraternity how he will be voted into office as the next FUFA president to unseat incumbent Moses Hashim Magogo (who is also now a Member of Parliament representing Buyende district).
“I’ve just finished picking FUFA president nomination forms today and I’m required to return them tomorrow at 2 pm after paying 10million shillings.” He wrote before adding.
“Though it’s a small period of time, I will return them with all requirements and be nominated as the next FUFA president for the good of football. Hope for a fair election process….#Tulibanyivu,” he posted.
Ssewanyana now joins Proline’s Mujib Kasule in the queue for the FUFA presidential race who picked his nomination forms on Monday morning.
While Bernard Atiku (Onduparaka) and Ali Ssekatawa (Nyamityibora) are also rumoured to be interested in the same seat but are yet to pick nomination forms.
The election of the FUFA president and his executive committee will take place on the 21st August 2021 at the 97th FUFA assembly hosted by the Eastern Region Football Association in the Eastern district of Mbale.
