The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially announced the coaching panel for the Uganda National Team ahead of the highly anticipated CHAN 2024 tournament.
The regional competition, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from August 2 to August 30, 2025, under the Pamoja East Africa hosting arrangement.
FUFA has appointed Fred Muhumuza and Morley Byekwaso to take charge of preparing and leading the team. The duo will operate under the supervision of Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put, who will oversee all technical matters throughout the campaign.
FUFA also confirmed that additional technical staff will be named in due course, following the final squad selection.
It’s worth noting that Muhumuza and Byekwaso previously worked together on an interim basis for the Uganda Cranes during international friendlies against Mali and Zambia in October 2023, following the departure of former head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojević.
The African Nations Championship (CHAN) is a tournament exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues. With home advantage, Uganda will be aiming for a strong performance in front of its fans.
