Mengo City Futsal Club completed a remarkable turnaround to claim their first-ever betPawa Futsal Super League (FSL) title, capping a season defined by resilience, consistency, and redemption.

Their commanding 10-0 demolition of Crown Lubiri on the final day sealed a dream campaign that began with doubts but ended in dominance.

After opening the season with a humbling 7-1 defeat to title rivals Park FC, Mengo City responded with an incredible 21-match unbeaten streak—proof of their character and hunger. Eighteen wins and three draws later, they stood tall as champions, leapfrogging Park FC on the final day in dramatic fashion.

Skipper Male Anthony spearheaded the title-clinching win with a four-goal masterclass, backed by John Musasizi’s brace and strikes from Samuel Omara, Hakim Bagalaba, Arafat Kabanda, and Ian Tugume.

Although Park had briefly moved to the top with a narrow 4-3 win over QC Mbarara, Mengo City’s emphatic response erased any doubts about who deserved the crown.

Beyond the league, Mengo City are now on the brink of even greater history. With a place in the Futsal Uganda Cup semifinals and a Super Cup slot guaranteed, the club is eyeing a rare domestic treble—a feat achieved by only one other Ugandan futsal side – Park FC

Their journey—from early-season adversity to record-setting champions—cements Mengo City’s place among Uganda’s futsal elite, and perhaps, a dynasty in the making.
