In a dramatic finish, 14-year-old Eze Kombi emerged as the hero for Edgar’s Youth Program, scoring two late goals to secure a 2-2 draw against QC Mbarara in their latest BetPawa Futsal Super League clash.

The young forward’s brace, which came in the final minutes of the match, salvaged a vital point for his team after they had been trailing 2-0 for most of the game.

The match, which was packed with intensity, saw QC Mbarara take control early on.

Sadam Kassaga and Franklin Tamale were the scorers for QC, putting them firmly in the driver’s seat with a two-goal lead.

Edgar’s Youth Program struggled to break down their opponents and looked set to leave the match empty-handed.

However, Eze Kombi had other plans. With time running out, Kombi found the back of the net with a clinical finish in the final two minutes.

His first goal sparked hope, but it was his stunning equaliser, just six seconds before full-time, that truly stole the show.

The young forward’s incredible resilience under pressure highlighted his potential, as he became the match-winner with his well-timed strike that left QC Mbarara’s defense reeling.

The senior 3 Amus College student’s heroics were a testament to his composure and skill, marking a memorable moment for both him and his team.

Edgar’s Youth Program will now look to build on this dramatic result as they continue their journey in the league.

In other fixtures from the BetPawa Futsal Super League, Crown Lubiri exposed the vulnerabilities of Park FC with a dominant 4-0 victory.

Mohammed Sharif netted a brace, while Abas Abdiwahab and Abdulkadir Abdi Shakur also found the back of the net to complete the commanding win for Crown Lubiri.

Kisenyi FC claimed a 4-2 win over Nansana Aska, with Waleed Abdullahi Bashir scoring a brace and Nabil Kihindi adding another goal.

In a bizarre turn of events, Kabuusu Clouds were awarded maximum points after their opponents Kisugu arrived 30 minutes past the scheduled kickoff time.

Looking ahead, the Frenzy Edition of the BetPawa Futsal Super League will continue next weekend with an exciting lineup of matches.

Busunju Spaks will take on Crown Lubiri, Kabowa Dream Team will face Kisenyi FC, Lubaga Grameen will meet Edgar’s Youth Program, and Mengo City will clash with Kabuusu Clouds.

For Edgar’s Youth Program, the young Eze Kombi’s late heroics will undoubtedly be a confidence booster as they prepare for their next challenge.

His performance on the big stage proves that age is no barrier to making an impact in the world of futsal.
