Allan Okello’s moment of brilliance in the 34th minute sealed the win, his sensational free-kick proving the difference as Uganda claimed three vital points in Group G.

Among the standout figures of the match was Italy-based defender Elio Capradossi, who captained the side in the absence of Khalid Aucho and Isima Watenga.

Speaking after the game, Capradossi expressed his delight at the team’s performance and the electrifying atmosphere at Namboole.

“It was a monorail because it was a very good feeling,” Capradossi remarked. “The first time was amazing, we won, so it was a perfect evening. Our home is special, we know it.”

The center-back was also full of praise for the fans and the support the team received throughout the match. “The atmosphere is very nice, so we just tried to win, and today went good,” he added.
