The Jinja SS Cricket Oval crackled with tension as the Elephants and the Bulls walked out for the Batball X Jinja T10 final, a match that would prove every bit as dramatic as fans hoped.

What unfolded was a gritty, nerve-tightening contest where every run mattered, every mistake carried weight, and composure became the rarest currency on the field.

In the end, the Elephants emerged triumphant, defending a modest total to clinch an 11-run victory in a final etched with suspense from start to finish.

The Bulls had won the toss and eagerly sent the Elephants in to bat, confident that early pressure could tilt the final in their favor.

And for a while, it seemed the decision would pay off.

The Elephants battled against a two-paced pitch and probing bowling, losing wickets just when partnerships threatened to settle.

Their total of 69 for 6 in 10 overs appeared dangerously light, yet those who had watched the conditions closely sensed there was more to that number than first impressions suggested.

Timing the ball was a luxury; discipline would define the chase.

When the Bulls came out to hunt down 70, the innings unravelled almost immediately.

Geofrey Kakaire’s duck opened the floodgates to a collapse fuelled by relentless, disciplined bowling from the Elephants.

Dot balls mounted like a wall the Bulls could not climb, run-outs snatched away precious chances, and panic crept into their shots.

In the midst of the turbulence, Dan Keith Amani stood defiant, crafting a composed 13 off 15 balls and striking two crisp boundaries.

His effort earned him the Player of the Match award—an uncommon recognition for someone on the losing side.

But with little support around him, the chase withered away.

The Bulls limped to 51 for 8, short of the target yet full of regrets about the moments that slipped through their fingers.

Their journey to the final had been remarkable—coming from the bottom of the table to stun the unbeaten Leopards—while the Elephants had brushed aside the Rhinos with authority in their semifinal.

Even in the third-place playoff, the Leopards rebounded to defeat the Rhinos by 13 runs, adding another twist to an already unpredictable tournament.

As the dust settles, attention now shifts to Entebbe, which will host the Batball Max Qualifier from December 7th to 21st, leading into the main event.

If the Jinja edition proved anything, it’s that T10 cricket thrives on surprise—and every run, no matter how small, can change everything.
