Amidst vibrant energy in Soroti City, the Easter games commenced today at the City Ground, marking the start of an exciting tournament.
Beyond the matches, the event features Coaching Clinics, interactions with players from Soroti Cricket Academy, and opportunities for community engagement.

These initiatives aim to garner support from the community and foster both athletic and academic excellence, reflecting the academy’s commitment to nurturing dreams.
Today on the opening day of the tournament, SCA XI LADIES faced Last year’s schools cricket week runners-up, Light SS, in a low-scoring encounter.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, SCA XI Ladies managed only 44 all out in 19.1 overs.
Timong Patricia (3-7 in 3 overs) and Light SS skipper Apolot Patricia (2-18 in 4 overs) posed a formidable challenge for the SCA XI Ladies.
In the chase, Light SS reached 45/7 in 15.5 overs, securing victory by 3 wickets. Timong Patricia’s steady innings of 17 off 32 laid a solid foundation for Light SS’s successful pursuit.
Despite bowling efforts from Achan Rachel and Agwang Patricia, who picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively, SCA XI LADIES fell short of victory.
In the afternoon fixture, the CHAIRMAN’S XI, led by captain Musana Felix, faced off against SCA XI MEN, securing a 12-run victory.

Posting a respectable total of 113/7 in 20 overs, the Chairman’s XI received contributions from Malinga Jacob (30 off 21), Ainebyona Alban (20 off 20).
Captain Musana Felix also scored 19 off 31 as he made a return to cricket after a period of absence from competitive play, despite remaining active in training.

In response, SCA XI MEN managed 101/5 in 20 overs, with Ogwang Wilfred (22), Ebulu Ronald (24), and Osakan Christopher (25) contributing to the chase.
However, the Chairman’s XI’s bowling attack, led by Ramadan Etanu, proved challenging for SCA XI MEN.
The Easter games will continue tomorrow with two thrilling matchups: SCA XI LADIES will face St Mary’s Madera girls at Madera Ground, while the Chairman’s XI will visit Teso College to take on the Boys at their home ground.
