Diaspora: Nalukenge, Ssekagya and Olaki on target – how Ugandan professionals abroad fared over the weekend

It was somehow a great weekend for Ugandan professional players abroad. Some got ample playing time while others remained on bench for their respectively side.

Others like Juliet Nalukenge, Ibra Ssekagya and Ronald Olaki got on target over the weekend.

Here is a wrap on how they fared over the weekend for their respective side.

Starting off in England, Jordan Obita was absent from the match day squad as his side Wycombe Wanderers drew goalless with Portsmouth in the English League One.

In the National League, Ibra Ssekaja secured a point for his side Dulwich as they drew 1-1 with Slough Town. Ssekaja was on target in the 92nd minute of the game to level matters.

In Ireland, Melvyn Lorezen was out as his side, Sligo Rovers drew 2-all with Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

In Scotland, Bevis Mugabi was out as his side Motherwell lost 2-1 to St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

In USA, Steven Sserwada didn’t make it to the match day squad as New York Red Bulls II lost 3-0 to Loudoun United in the United States League Championship.

In Denmark, Robert Kaketo was introduced on for Maarout in the 62nd minute as his side, Skive FC secured a vital 3-0 away victory against Brabrand in the Danish second division.

In the Danish 1st Division, Moses Opondo was out as his side Horsens AC secured a 4-1 victory over Nykobing FC.

In Sweden, Isak Ssewakambo was absent as Ostersunds FK defeated Levanger FK in a friendly game.

In Israel, Timothy Awanyi played full-time for Ashdod SC as they secured a 2-0 victory over Kizito Luwagga’s Hapoel Nof HaGalil FC. Luwagga was absent from the squad.

Still in Israeli Premier League, Fahad Bayo was unused by Bnei Sackin as they drew goalless with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

In Cyprus, Juliet Nalukenge got a goal and an assist as Amok drew 2-all with Pafos WFC in Cyprus Women Premier League.

In CAF Champions League, Denis Onyango was absent as Mamelodi Sundowns secured a 4-2 victory over Al-Hilal.

Savio Kabugo played full-time as Jwaneng Galaxy lost 3-0 to ES Tunis.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Joseph Benson Ochaya was unused as his side, TP Mazembe drew 2-all away with Otoyo D’oyo.

Taddeo Lwanga was an early second half introduction as his side, Simba SC lost 3-0 to ASEC.

In South Africa, Moses Waiswa was introduced on in the 71st minute for Jamie Webber as his side SuperSport United drew 1-all with TS Galaxy in the DSTV Premiership.

Jamal Salim played for Pretoria Callies as they drew 1-all with Richards Bay in NFD.

In Zambia, Ronald Olaki was on target as his side, Buildcon FC lost 2-1 to Chambishi in the MTN Zambian Premier League. In this game, Keziron Kizito started for Buildcon.

Hashim Ssempala featured for Kabwe Warriors as they defeated Power Dynamos 1-0.

In Tanzania, Nicholas Wadada was absent as Azam FC came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Somalia in a friendly game.

Khalid Aucho featured for Young African SC as they defeated KMC FC 2-0 in the NBC Premier league.

In Algeria, Allan Okello was out injured as Paradou AC lost 3-1 to WA Tiemcen in the Algeria Ligue 1.

In Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme was out with an injury as his side Viktoria Zizkov drew goalless with Usti nad Laben.

In Portugal, Edrisa Lubega was introduced on in the 69th minute for Madson as his side, Estrella da Amadora drew 2-all with Porto B in LigaPro.

In Germany, Herbert Bockhorn featured for VFL Bochorn in their abandoned game against Borussia Monchengladbach in the German Bundesliga. The game was abandoned after the linesman was hit by a material as Gladbach was 2-0 up.
