Diaspora: How Ugandan proffesionals abroad fared over the weekend

Few Ugandan players abroad were in action over the weekend due to the international break coupled with the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Some got ample playing time while others couldn’t make the match-day squads for their respectively sides.

Here is how those Ugandan pros fared over the weekend.

Starting off in Scotland, defender Bevis Mugabi was an unused substitute as Motherwell lost 2-0 to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

In England, striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru was absent as Middlesbrough secured a 1-0 victory over Coventry City in the English Championship.

Jordan Obita featured fulltime for Wycombe Wanderers as they lost 1-0 to MK Dons in Football league one while Jadyen Onen was absent as Sheffield Wednesday secured a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

In Israel, Luwagga Kizito featured for 86 minutes as Hapoel Nof Hagalil secured a 1-0 victory over Maccabi Petach in the Israeli Premier League.

Still in the Israeli Premier League, Timothy Awanyi featured fulltime as Ashdod SC lost 3-1 to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

In Zambia, Keziron Kizito featured fulltime for Buildcon as they drew 1-all with Kafue Celtics in the MTN Zambian Premiership. Another Ugandan, Ronald Olaki netted the equalising goal for Buildcon.

In Ethiopia, Charles Lukwago featured fulltime and kept a cleansheet as St. George defeated Fasil Kenema 4-0.

In Tanzania, Taddeo Lwanga was still out for Simba SC as they defeated Dar City 6-0 in the Azam Sports Federation Cup.

Still in ASFC, Khalid Aucho was out as Young Africans defeated Mbao FC 1-0 while Nicholas Wadada and Mathias Kigonya sat out as Azam defeated Transit Camp 1-0.
