Cricket: Victoria Pearls squad summoned ahead of Capricorn Series

A 26-lady Victoria Pearls squad has summoned to start training ahead of the Capricorn Series in Nambia.

This is after the Pearls were invited to take part in the Tri-Series tournament in Namibia from April 19-27th 2022.The other nation will be Zimbabwe.

The summoned squad includes Barbara Mukankusi and Ritah Nyagendo, who both make a return to the national team after being away from some while.

While Patricia Timong, Jimia Mohammad and Jacqueline Nakayovu earn their first call to the ladies side.

This Tri-Series tournament will have a T20i status so they will be ranking points for Uganda who sit 19th in the World.

Uganda lost to both Namibia and Zimbabwe in Botswana last year during the ICC Africa Women’s Cricket T20 Championship.

Lawrence Ssematimba and Lawrence Ssempijja will led the team on interim basis after Suraj Karavadra left the team in December.
