The Uganda Cranes are set to resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with a crucial fixture against Mozambique on 20th March 2025. Due to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) deeming Mozambique’s home stadium in Maputo below the required standards for FIFA-sanctioned matches, the Mozambican Football Federation has arranged to host the match at Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

This development means that Uganda will play Mozambique on neutral ground, potentially impacting the dynamics of the match. Following this encounter, the Cranes are scheduled to face Guinea, marking a pivotal period in their quest for World Cup qualification.

Key players, including Captain Emmanuel Okwi, Farouk Miya, Steven Sserwadda, and Isma Mugulusi, joined the camp to bolster the team’s readiness.

As the Cranes gear up for these decisive matches, the Uganda football community remains hopeful for positive outcomes to bolster their World Cup aspirations.
