The countdown is on. FIFA has announced that the first ticket application phase for the FIFA World Cup 26™ opens on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

With kickoff less than a year away, fans are encouraged to visit FIFA.com/tickets and create a FIFA ID to apply.

“This will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “Canada, Mexico, and the United States are ready to welcome the world.”

A World Cup Like No Other

The 2026 tournament will feature 48 teams and 104 matches, making it the largest in history. Over 6.5 million fans are expected across 16 cities. The action begins on June 11 in Mexico City and ends with the final on July 19 in New York/New Jersey.

How to Apply for Tickets

Tickets will be released in phases, starting with a random draw. A FIFA ID is required to enter, and fans are encouraged to register early. Each phase may have different payment methods and rules, which FIFA will announce in due time.

Premium Packages and Safe Buying

Hospitality packages such as Follow My Team are already available at FIFA.com/hospitality. Fans are urged to buy only from official sources, as unofficial tickets may be invalid.

Having a match ticket does not guarantee entry into the host country, so travelers should check visa and entry requirements in advance.

Visa remains FIFA’s official payment technology partner.

With excitement growing around the world, September 10 marks the first step toward being part of football history.
