Uganda Cranes entered into a residential camp on Sunday at Cranes Paradise, Kisasi with most of the foreign-based players yet to arrive.
All this is done in preparation of the upcoming final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier games against South Africa on 15th November at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, before traveling to Congo for the concluding match four days later.

However in the team summoned by Uganda Head Coach Paul Joseph Put were some new names, one of those being Geofrey Wasswa who looks like a direct replacement of recent fans favorite Ellio Capradosi.
In an open training session held at Namboole, a grateful Wasswa was thankful and promised to give his best;
“I am very happy to be back on the National team” he started
Adding that; “I thank the coaches and technical team for recognizing my efforts”
“I know the competition is heavy and believe I can manage it, will give my best for the team so that we qualify for AFCON” he concluded
Currently, Cranes are leading Group K with 10 points and require just a point from these two games to secure qualification.
Group K standings.
- Uganda – 10 points
