Uganda Premier League

  • URA FC Vs KCCA FC – Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo

Uganda Premier League match day 24 will see a highly anticipated showdown as URA FC host KCCA FC in the lights of the iconic Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo with both sides eager to fight for maximum points.

The Kasasiro Boyz, are desperate to bounce back after a difficult run of results, having failed to pick up maximum points in their last two league fixtures, and will be hoping to avoid dropping points for a third consecutive game.

The reverse fixture between the two teams ended in favour of KCCA FC, who edged URA FC 1-0 back in September 2024. That result will give them confidence heading into this tie, despite the recent dip in form.

This will be interim head coach Jackson Magera Kaddu’s second game in charge since his appointment on April 10th, 2025. Ahead of the match, Magera expressed optimism in his squad’s readiness and mentality.

“The mood is okay; everyone is eager to go there and collect positive points. We need to win to regain confidence, and a win against URA will boost our morale,” said Magera.

KCCA FC’s preparations have been boosted by the return of several key players in Musitafa Mujuzi and Umar Lutalo who resumed training after recovering from illness.

Whereas midfield maestro Bright Anukani is back in full training following an ankle injury, youngster Brian Jjara is available for selection after serving his suspension.

Etienne Katenga has also rejoined training after recovering from a shin contusion.

However, they will miss the services of Sadat Anaku, who is undergoing rehabilitation for a quadriceps strain, Fillbert Obenchan, sidelined due to a knock sustained against BUL FC and Yian Gatbel, out with an ankle injury picked up in training.

URA FC under head coach Alex Isabirye ‘Musongola’, are determined to make home advantage count and avenge the first-leg defeat. With the Authority Derby on the line, Isabirye is not taking the visitors lightly.

“We face KCCA FC in a tricky tie at home. Despite their struggles, they remain a strong side. We lost to them in the first leg, but we are prepared and targeting maximum points,” Isabirye stated.

The coach also outlined long-term ambitions, saying, “We are targeting to fight for the trophy next season, and building strong performances in this final quarter of the league will set the tone.”

URA FC will wait on the fitness of Hudu Mulikyi and Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who are facing late fitness tests ahead of the clash.

With both sides having plenty to play for—KCCA FC fighting for redemption and URA FC aiming to build momentum, the Authority Derby promises an entertaining affair. KCCA’s returning stars could play a crucial role, while URA will count on their home crowd to push them over the line.

Other games on the evening will include;

  • Mbale Heroes vs Express – Mbale, 4Pm
  • Mbarara City vs SC Villa – Kakyeeka, 4Pm
