CHAN 2024 Qualifiers: Isaac Ogwang strike gives Uganda victory against Burundi

Isaac Ogwang’s 35th minute debut strike ensured a 0:1 for Uganda against Burundi in the CHAN 2024 regional qualifiers at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The Police FC striker capitalized on an era by the the Burundians to score his first for the cranes.

This was the first of two legs between the two nations which will both be played at the same stadium in Kampala.

In a game full of many firsts, like the first time the cranes played at the refurbished Nakivubo stadium, a couple of debutants, it was also the first time Allan Okello Captained the national team.

Uganda has already earned automatic qualification as tournament hosts along with Kenya and Tanzania but Burundi will need victory in the second leg to be played on Saturday in Nakivubo to improve their qualification chances.
