Sport-S Women secured bronze at this year’s CAVB Zone V tournament concluded in thrilling fashion as Rwandan clubs dominated the podium, claiming four medals, including a clean sweep in the men’s category at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala.

Rwanda’s APR Clinches Men’s Title

APR Volleyball Club emerged as the 2025 CAVB Zone V Club Champions, defeating defending champions Rwanda Police in a 3-1 victory.

Police had a strong start, winning the first set, but struggled to contain APR’s relentless attacks, ultimately losing their grip on the match.

In the bronze medal match, Rwanda Energy Group (REG) volleyball club defeated Uganda’s Sport-S volleyball club, ensuring an all-Rwanda podium finish in the men’s category.

Sport-S Women Secure Uganda’s Only Medal

Uganda’s Sport-S Women Volleyball Club delivered a spirited performance to claim bronze, defeating fellow Ugandan side KCB Nkumba Women VC in a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

APR Women Crowned Champions After Comeback Win

In the women’s final, APR Women VC dethroned defending champions Kenya Pipeline with a dramatic 3-1 comeback win.

The Rwandan side had a shaky start, losing the first set 25-20, but quickly regained momentum to win three consecutive sets (17-25, 24-26, 23-25), securing the championship.

Rwanda’s Volleyball Dominance

With APR securing both men’s and women’s titles, and REG adding a bronze in the men’s category, Rwandan clubs once again asserted their dominance in regional volleyball.

Uganda’s Sport-S Women VC was the only non-Rwandan team to make it to the podium, ensuring Uganda remained competitive despite Rwanda’s stronghold on the tournament.
