ICC mens U19 cricket world cup Africa qualifier division 2 key Insights and team squads

Eight teams will compete in Dar es Salaam, with three advancing to the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup Africa Qualifier in 2025.

Sixteen matches are scheduled across two venues over eight days, beginning on August 2.

The journey to the 2026 ICC U19 World Cup in Sri Lanka continues with this tournament, held in Tanzania from August 2-11.

Matches will take place at the DAR Gymkhana and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).

Teams from Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone will compete for three spots in the next qualification round.

Tanzania Cricket Association Chairman, Dr. B.S. Sreekumar, expressed his excitement and gratitude:

“We are honored to host the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier.

Our thanks to the ICC for entrusting Tanzania with this prestigious event.”

Dr. Sreekumar highlighted the support of the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Council, and the dedication of the TCA board members and staff.

He noted the growing popularity of cricket in Tanzania and the emerging talent from all corners of the country.

This tournament, he said, will further raise public awareness and interest in the sport. He also emphasized the importance of playing in the true spirit of cricket, ensuring the sport itself emerges as the ultimate winner.

“We welcome all participants to Dar es Salaam, a city known as the ‘haven of peace.’ We hope this event will leave lasting memories for everyone involved,”
