The stage is set for an exciting final in the SCA Women’s 50-over Elite League, with Campswahili and Senior Quarters set to clash on November 24, 2024, at the Soroti City Oval, located opposite Soroti Hotel.

The two teams will compete for the championship in what promises to be a thrilling matchup.

The tournament followed a double round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final.

Campswahili, who finished the round-robin phase with 10 points from 6 matches, will face Senior Quarters, who currently have 6 points from 5 games, with one game still to play.

In their final round-robin encounter yesterday, Campswahili triumphed over Senior Quarters by 8 wickets, bringing them momentum heading into the final.

While the result of yesterday’s other match — a 7-wicket victory for Pamba over Nakatunya — did not impact the standings, it confirmed Pamba’s elimination from the title race.

They finished with just 4 points from 6 games, unable to challenge for a top-two spot.

Similarly, Nakatunya, at the bottom of the table with 2 points from 5 games, will not be able to climb higher, even with their final match against Senior Quarters.

Looking ahead to the final, both Campswahili and Senior Quarters are expected to bring their best performances.

Campswahili has been in strong form, with only one loss in the round robin, while Senior Quarters will look to bounce back after their recent defeat.

Key individual performances have stood out during the tournament; Illoku Esther of Senior Quarters currently leads the batting charts with 165 runs, while Amayo Martha of Pamba tops the wicket column with 15 wickets.

”It’s good to play and carry the flag of the area where I come from, we hope to win the trophy and take glory to Campswahili and we are ready to give it our all”

Said Asumin Akrut- Captain for Campswahili

The final promises to be an exciting battle between two determined teams, with both sides eager to claim the prestigious title.
