Ugandan side NEC FC will make their continental debut when they take on Kenyan outfit Nairobi United FC in the First Preliminary Round of the 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

NEC earned their place in the tournament after finishing second in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League, capping off a remarkable domestic campaign that now sees them test themselves on the African stage for the first time.

The winner of this East African tie will progress to the Second Preliminary Round, where they will face either Al Ahli Madani of Sudan or Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia.

NEC will host the first leg between 19–21 September 2025 in Uganda, before traveling to Kenya for the return leg between 26–28 September 2025.

The Second Preliminary Round is scheduled between 17–26 October 2025, with the victorious side booking a spot in the Group Stage starting 21 November 2025. The knockout phase will then begin on 13 March 2026.
