Determined to secure their first ever Buganda Masaza Cup title, Buweekula has officially unveiled its Management Committee for the 2025 tournament.
After falling short at the semifinal stage last year losing to eventual runners up Kyaggwe, Buweekula is now restructuring and reinforcing its leadership to mount a stronger challenge in the upcoming competition.
At the heart of this new chapter, Kasumba Richard has been appointed as the Chairperson with Babumba Simon Peter serving as Vice Chairperson.
The team’s technical expert, Joseph Kyambadde has been elevated to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after serving in previous editions as the Head of Technical.
Experienced administrator Hajji Ssebulime Rajab will continue in his role as Team Manager, bringing valuable experience to the squad that finished third last year in the prestigious tournament.
The 2024 Masaza Cup was clinched by Buddu at the newly refurbished Mandela National Stadium in Namboole and Buweekula is now looking to go a step further in 2025.
A well structured technical, medical, public relations and security team has been assembled to ensure the smooth operation of the team.
Bayiwa Patrick will serve as Head of Technical while Bukenya Hakim takes charge as Team Doctor. The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nsereko Adams and Security Officer, Kiggundu Ibrahim will oversee media and safety operations respectively.
Additionally, a robust marketing team led by Bukenya Umar (Senior BK) has been put in place to drive the team’s promotional activities. The fan base will be organized under the leadership of Chairperson Ayinza Dorothy ensuring strong community support.
Buweekula has also enlisted high-profile patrons including Hajji Walusimbi Siraj (SS Hotel), Dr. Mukiibi Bernard, Mr. Kirumira Henry, and Mr. Galabuzi Henry (GTC) to provide strategic guidance and financial backing.
The team will also be represented by ambassadors John Ssegawa and Shaxx Mc who will work to boost the club’s public image and fan engagement.
Regional coordination will be key, with representatives assigned to different areas, including Kasambya, Kiyuni, Kitenga, Madudu, Butologo, and Bagezza ensuring Buweekula’s reach extends across the region.
With a strong management structure in place, Buweekula is aiming to transform their semifinal disappointment into a championship-winning campaign.
As the tournament approaches, the team’s leadership will be focusing on assembling a competitive squad, fostering teamwork, and inspiring fans to rally behind their dream of lifting their first ever Masaza Cup.
