Busiro Unveils Strong 28-Man Squad for the 2025 Masaza Cup Tournament

The Busiro Ssaza Football Team has officially announced a formidable 28-man squad ahead of the much-anticipated 2025 Masaza Cup tournament. The squad was unveiled in a spirited event held at Setema Ssaza Grounds, where Busiro delivered a confident 2-0 victory over Kyadondo in a friendly match, showcasing their readiness for the new campaign.

Led by the committed and strategic leadership of Owek. Ssebwana Charles Kiberu Kisiliza, the team has blended youthful energy with seasoned experience, positioning themselves as serious contenders in this year’s competition. The unveiling marks a renewed ambition for Busiro, who are determined to go beyond last year’s disappointing group-stage exit.

The 2025 squad boasts a strong mix of emerging and established talent. Among the notable new signings are Hamza Kalibwami (from Buddu), Rahman Kabaale (from Busujju), Ismail Lubega (Nkumba University), Kennedy Ssewankambo, Julius Lukyamuzi, Jamiru Kajubi, Allan Kalule.

These new recruits will bolster a core of retained players, including Peter Kaye, Sharif Muwaya, Lawrence Kimera, and notable defender Hamza Ntagugira

This combination is expected to provide the depth and versatility needed to compete in a challenging group. Busiro’s technical setup is one of the most well-organized in the competition.

The team will be under the guidance of Denis Kiyimba Mulangira the Head Coach, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda as the Assistant Coach, Kimuli Robert Second Assistant Coach, Lukyamuzi Richard Trainer, Bukenya Grace the Goalkeeping Coach, Dr. Batenda Ramadhan the Team Doctor

This experienced coaching unit brings tactical acumen and player development expertise, all aimed at driving Busiro to a second Masaza Cup title since the competition’s inception in 2004.

Busiro has been drawn into the competitive Bulange Group, alongside Gomba, Buddu, Busujju, Ssese, and Buluuri. The team kicks off its campaign with a high-stakes away match against Busujju at the Kakindu Playground on Saturday, June 29th.

With a re-energized squad and renewed vision, Busiro aims not only to advance from the group stages but to challenge for the coveted Masaza Cup trophy. The road to redemption begins now and all eyes will be on this promising lineup as they embark on their 2025 journey.
