The Bundesliga is one of the highest-scoring leagues in Europe, but some goals are easier to score than others. With Bundesliga Match Facts Powered by AWS, we calculate the goal probability for every goal scored – even the simple ones!
In Matchday 11, we saw some of the easiest finishes of the season so far, including Anthony Modeste’s tap-in, which had an xG value of 98.7%. Similarly, Florian Neuhaus gave Borussia Mönchengladbach the lead against Mainz with a rebound from close range. However, it was the speed of the ball (21km/h) that made Neuhaus’ chance a little harder, giving it an xG of 93.9%.
But the goal was completely empty for the most spectacular goal of the weekend. VfL Bochum’s Milos Pantovic scored from 70 yards out during extra-time against Hoffenheim. Without a goalkeeper or defenders to stop him, Pantovic’s long-range effort earned an xG value of 22.9%.
