In a Match-day 26 opener of Uganda Premier League action, BUL FC, KCCA FC and Vipers SC all secured crucial victories, with the latter drawing closer to the title.

BUL FC continued their impressive form, throttling Lugazi FC 4-0 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Karim Ndugwa’s brace, coupled with goals from Ibrahim Orit and Hilary Onek, sealed a convincing win for the Eastern Giants.

The victory takes BUL FC to 49 points, maintaining their third-place position in the league table.

In another thrilling encounter, Vipers SC edged UPDF 1-0 at Kitende, with substitute Gusto Mulongo heading home the winner in the 73rd minute.

The narrow victory extends Vipers’ lead at the top of the table to eight points, with 62 points from 25 matches.

The Venoms now shift their focus to the Uganda Cup semi-final first leg against Kitara on Saturday.

KCCA FC also notched up a crucial win, defeating Police FC 2-1 at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Shafik Nana Kwikiriza and Arafat Usama scored for KCCA while Umar Kasumba’s penalty was not enough for Police who were reduced to ten men after goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga’s dismissal.

The victory extends KCCA’s winning run and takes them to 40 points from 26 matches, rising to fifth place in the league table.
