Kitara FC have parted ways with Head-coach Brian Ssenyondo and his entire Technical team following a poor start to 2024/25 Uganda Premier League Campaign.
This was announced through an official statement via the clubs X handle.
“This decision has been made with the collective interests of Kitara FC and it’s supporters mind.” said part of the statement in which Ssenyondo was also appreciated.
“We honor the efforts that have helped to build the foundation we continue to strengthen.”
Ssenyondo joined Kitara in June last year filling in the big shoes of now Uganda Cranes Head-coach Sam Simbwa who had helped them to promotion.
Ssenyondo was off to a great start, winning all five of his first league games and had the royals dreaming of a UPL title.
It was the staff of dreams, he guided Kitara to their first and only senior title in history, last year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup victory over NEC FC in the final.
This also assured them of debut continental football in the CAF Confederations Cup where they were eliminated by Libya’s Al Hilal Benghazi at the first stage of preliminary rounds.
A run of poor results can be blamed for this divorce, Ssenyondo has only managed four points from his first six games and lost all three of his home games.
The club currently sits 3rd from bottom, with a point ahead of bottom placed Bright Stars.
Ssenyondo also joins a list of Four coaches that have left their head coach roles in the respective Clubs Nikola Kavazovic (Vipers), Sadiq Ssempigi (Lugazi), Richard Malinga (Mbale Heroes) and Baker Mbowa (Express)
