betPawa Futsal Super League champions and Futsal Uganda Cup winners, Mengo City have officially completed the signing of Kabowa Dream Team captain, Mugenyi Swabur.
The athletic and versatile fixo joins the Stormers on an undisclosed deal, just a day after announcing his departure from Kabowa Dream Team.

Swabur led Kabowa to a third-place finish in the 2024/25 betPawa Futsal Super League, amassing 46 points from 22 games. He scored 14 goals and was a key figure at the back with commanding defensive displays throughout the season.
His new club, Mengo City, enjoyed a historic campaign—clinching both the betPawa Futsal Super League and the Futsal Uganda Cup. They were on the verge of a treble but were narrowly denied by Park FC in the Futsal Super Cup.

Swabur arrives as a direct replacement for long-serving defender William Seguya, who recently parted ways with the club after six outstanding years of service.
At Mengo City, Swabur will compete for a place in the starting lineup alongside Samuel Omara, Sharifu Opuuli, John Musasizi, and Akram Ssali.
The 2025/26 betPawa Futsal Super League is set to kick off in September and promises to be bigger and better. Mengo City will aim to defend their crown, but fierce competition is expected from title rivals Park FC, Kabowa and Kisenyi FC, All of whom have been very active in the transfer market.
