Season Two of the BATBALL Program surges ahead with exciting momentum.

Fresh off the high-energy BATBALL X Jinja T10 — a four-day contest that showcased four fiercely competitive teams — the action now shifts to Entebbe for the next major chapter: the MAXX T20 Challenge Cup, starting tomorrow, 7 December 2025, and running for 15 days.

The MAXX T20 Challenge Cup steps things up from the T10 opener, offering a broader stage and higher stakes.

This edition brings together 84 players across six teams, all competing for coveted qualification spots in next year’s flagship event, BATBALL MAXX.

As the official pathway tournament, every run scored and every wicket taken will play a direct role in determining who earns a place in the biggest event of Season Two.

What makes this tournament special is its commitment to homegrown talent. All six squads are composed entirely of Ugandan players drawn from Cricket Uganda’s rapidly evolving development system.

Fans will see standout performers from the Jinja T10, emerging youngsters climbing through the ranks, seasoned national team players, and top-tier club cricketers.

The result: an exciting blend of experience, ambition, and raw talent — primed for high-intensity cricket.

The competition format features a double round-robin, delivering 30 matches across 15 consecutive days of action-packed double-headers.

It’s a demanding schedule designed to test consistency, teamwork, endurance, and the ability to perform under pressure.

When the dust settles, the team at the top of the table will be crowned champions.

BATBALL CEO Madaani Akashit emphasized the importance of this tournament, saying:

The BATBALL MAXX T20 Challenge Cup is the bridge between our grassroots Jinja T10 ecosystem and the elite MAXX T20 stage.

It allows us to recognize in-form, consistent senior players from the national and club circuits, while also grading every athlete into the right match-fee category for MAXX T20.

Most importantly, it gives both development and senior talent more game time, sharper competition, and global visibility — exactly what Uganda’s cricketing pathway needs to keep rising.

Each matchday will feature two live-streamed games, ensuring fans across the world can follow every moment.

With its elevated stakes, broader talent pool, and commitment to strengthening Uganda’s cricketing pathway, the MAXX T20 Challenge Cup is set to become a defining milestone of Season Two — and a thrilling showcase of the future stars of Ugandan cricket
