Women’s National Basketball League champions JKL Lady Dolphins are set to represent Uganda in the this year’s zone V women Basketball League Qualifiers.

The tournament will tip off in Zanzibar today, 27th October and climax on Saturday, 2nd November at the Amaan Indoor Stadium.
A total of eleven teams will compete for a place in the Women Basketball League Africa in Dakar, Senegal this December, only the top two teams will earn automatic slots.
JKL is in group A a long with Egypt’s Al Ahly, Young Sisters from Burundi and Kenya’s Vijana Queens.

Head coach Richard Malinga heads to the Islands today with 10 lady roster captained by the experienced Flavia Oketcho, Hope Akello, Evelyn Nakiyinji, Becky Longom, Agatha Kamwada, Perus Nyamwenge, Tamasha Nsubuga, Sharon Kirabo, Rita Imanishimwe and five time consecutive league top scorer Brenda Ekon.
