Aziz Kayondo joins MLS NEXT Pro side Real Monarchs on loan.

MSL Next Pro side Real Monarchs have confirmed the signing of Ugandan defender Aziz Kayondo on loan from CzechRepublic club MFK Vyskov confirmed by former club Vipers SC on their website.

Real Monarchs is the feeder club of Real Salt Lake in the Major League Soccer( the top flight in the United States of America).

Kayondo, 19 most recently played for Vipers Sports Club in the Ugandan Premier League where he played for the last four seasons, guiding them to their second Stanbic Uganda Cup Trophy in 2021 before joining MFK Vyskov on a four year deal. 

The former Vipers SC and U-20 left back immediately received praises from the assistant General Manager Tony Beltran.

“Kayondo is a talented, young defender who has quickly risen to a high pedigree in African football, both with his club and the Uganda national team,” he said.

“We believe this is just the beginning of what he can accomplish and are excited about the potential heights he can reach with Real Monarchs and our organization.”

The Ugandan native has featured for Ugandan National Football Teams at both the U20 and U23 level.

Kayondo made 11 appearances for the U-20 and U-23 squads, and recently recording his first appearance with the senior national team in their 2022 World Cup Qualifier against Rwanda.  

The diminutive defender rose through the ranks at Kitende based St. Mary’s School after representing them in the Uganda Senior Secondary Schools championships.
