The Uganda Silverbacks are seeking to qualify for a third consecutive AfroBasket finals with a victory over Morocco in a rescheduled group E games.

The Silverbacks had their second window games postponed in February this year after five members of the delegation tested positive for COVID-19 in Tunisia.

With Egypt already qualified, Uganda needs a victory over Morocco on Thursday evening at the Salle Omnisports El Bouazzaoui, Sale to seal their third consecutive finals berth.

If they fail to get the much needed victory over Morocco,  they will head to Cape Verde to play their remaining fixture next week.

In the first window, Ismail Wainright and Robinson Opong inspired Uganda to a 94-90 victory over Morocco in Egypt.

For Uganda to beat Morocco, Wainright and Opong should replicate their performances in the first window win. Robinson Opong shot 7-for-12 from the 3-point to record a game high 29 points whileWainright had 14 points

Furthermore, Uganda will hope two debutants,Keiran Zziwa and Mohammed Ghedi will fit in well with the squad so as to get the crucial victory.

The Silverbacks also have to stop  small forward Mohammed Choua who caused all sorts of problems to Uganda in the first window.

He had 25 points and 14 rebounds in a losing effort last year.

Morocco want to qualify for their 11th consecutive finals and their 21st in their history.
