AfroBasket 2021: Adam Seiko monumental as Uganda power past Cameroon

Shooting Guard Adam Seiko produced an outstanding performance as Uganda defeated Cameroon 80-66 on Friday to bounce back from a game one loss against Senegal at the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket finals in Kigali, Rwanda.

The San Diego State Aztecs guard shot in a game-high 20 points to propel the Silverbacks to victory.

NBA star Ismail Wainwright was also on top form as he nearly posted a triple-double with nine points, 12 rounds and 11 assists.

Robinson Opong contributed 15 points, John Deng Geu and Arthur Kaluma added 14 and 12 each.

Having lost horribly their first game, Uganda was quick to respond as they lead the first quarter 27-22 and extended their advantage to 10 points at halftime.

The Silverbacks stretched their lead to 14  at the end of fourth quarter.

They held on in the last quarter to win 80-66 on the day and secure their first AfroBasket group stages win .

Uganda will face South Sudan on Sunday in the last group game as they hope for a place in the knockout.

DJ Strawberry led the way for Cameroon with 17 points while Kenneth Kaidji added 11 points in losing effort.
