South Africa men’s football team, Bafana Bafana humbled Uganda Cranes 2-0 in the Africa Cup Of Nations Qualifiers group K game played at the Mandela National Stadium on Friday evening.
Bafana Bafana’s two goals were both netted in the second half by Thapelo Morena and Patrick Masangwanyi.
Right after replacing Elias Sepho Mokwana Morena scored South Africa’s first goal on the day came just four (4) minutes after restart with some good work from Bathusi Jurry Aubaas who pressed Taddeo Lwanga who went on to lose the ball on his box.

With seconds left to the 90 mark, two substitutes in goal scorer Morena and Devin Chandley Titus combined to inter change passes to produce a good ball from the right only for Maswangayi to spin Cranes’ Bevis Mugabi to stage a beautiful finish, bottom left of Isma Watenga’s goal.
After both nations coming into today’s game having secured a slot at the 2025 AFCON, this result meant that South Africa took home both Pride and maximum points.
This lifts Bafana Bafana top of Group K with 11 points, one more than Uganda who lay second, Four-star Congo Brazzaville stay in third after losing to South Sudan who keep bottom on three (3).
Uganda will play their final game away against Congo while Bafana Bafana will host South Sudan both on Tuesday 19th November 2024 at 7pm
