Uganda Cranes head coach Abdallah Mubiru has said that his technical team has already got a plan in place to oust Malawi in the AFCON 2021 crucial qualifier fixture in Blantyre on Monday.
Mubiru made the remarks on Saturday morning after the Cranes last training session at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, before they depart for Malawi on Sunday.
“We have analysed and studied our opponents thoroughly, we already know their strengths and weakness and we will tend to capitalize on their mistakes so as we get the result we want on Monday,” he said.
There are some doubts in the squad, although Mubiru believes he has well prepared and ready replacements in his squad for those who can’t won’t make it to the crucial tie.
“The players are in good condition even though we have a few injury concerns in our squad. Nevertheless, we still have able replacements who are committed to take on the task of collecting maximum points from Malawi on Monday.”
The Uganda Cranes sit second on the log in group B with 8 points garnered in 5 games and any positive result against Malawi on Monday will seal them a third consecutive AFCON finals berth. Burkina Faso who sit top currently are already qualified to the finals.
