Rugby Cranes to face Kenya Simbas in Rugby Africa Cup

It’s Derby day in France as the Uganda’s senior men Rugby National team, Rugby Cranes play Simbas of Kenya in the Rugby Africa Cup quarterfinals on Saturday.

This being the Rugby Africa Cup, it’s also a qualifier for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, the winner in the Migingo derby will play Senegal or Algeria in the semifinals.

The team that is  captained by Ivan Magomu(Black Pirates) and led by Fred Mudoola is ranked 52 and their opponents 35 something that doesn’t favour the Rugby Cranes.

But everything said, not all is on the wrong side of the Cranes having played 34 games winning 10, drawing 2 and loosing the rest the last encounter being in 2019 Kenya beating up Uganda 16-05 in the Elgon Cup.

With Namibia thumping Burkina Faso 71-05 and Zimbabwe doing the same to Ivory Coast (38-11) being the score, one semi final is already set.

The other game to be played today will see Senegal play Algeria.
