Uganda Cranes have qualified to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco before playing their final games against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville.
This happened after South Sudan beat Congo Brazzaville 3-2 thanks to a brace from Malish Ezibon Wajo 31′, 45+2′ and another from D. Elly six minutes to the 90 mark in Juba.
Which meant Uganda and South Africa are safe and through to the final tournament with 10 and 8 goals respectively and Congo coming in third with 4 points.
Cranes now will play in the tournament which will be played in December 2025. With four cities Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech prepared to host the honorable tournament.
This will be Uganda’s eighth AFCON after having participated there in 1962, 1968, 1974, 1976, 1978, 2017 & 2019.
A total of 10 nations have now qualified to the AFCON and they include hosts Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, DR Congo, Egypt, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and South Africa.
Uganda will now play South Africa on 15th November at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, before traveling to Congo for the concluding match four days later.
