2024 Paris Olympics: Jesse Ssengonzi sets new national record

Jesse Suubi Ssengonzi managed to finish second [2nd] in heat 1 Heat 1 of the men’s 100m butterfly at the 2024 Olympics, France on Friday.

The 20 year old finished behind second behind Croatian Nikola Miljenić who finished at 53:32.

Ssengonzi who was pimped for this swim race clinched a new national record of 53.76 seconds from his 54.06 seconds in the USA.

However this time is not enough to push the swimmer to the semifinals of the games after the different results from other heats.

Ssengonzi is Uganda’s eighth male representative in Olympic swimming history and first of the others to attempt the 100m fly.
