2024 Netball Africa Cup: She Cranes bag first tournament win over hosts Namibia

Uganda Women Netball National Team, She Cranes achieved their first win of the Netball Africa Cup after they beat hosts Namibia with a difference of 12 goals at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund municipality.

Unlike the first game where they lost to Zimbabwe, here the Ladies had an element of stability throughout the game thanks to a number of pointers one being the Captain Irene Eyaru’s return.

Eyaru managed to complete 22 out of her 22 goal attempts.

Into the game, Uganda finished the first quarter with a four (4) goal margin (11-15) that went on to increase at halftime to nine (9) closing the opening half 23-32.

In the third quarter, a determined She Cranes did their best to manage the game and maintain their margin to go into the final one with a 11-goal buffer.

The Final quarter saw the host nation fight to try to come back but they were not good enough to battle the visitors closing it at 43-55.

This result enlightened She Cranes chances ahead of their game against Eswatini which would be one to push them out of the Pool Incase of a win.
