2022 AWCON Qualifiers: Lutalo summons 27 players to start preparations ahead of Ethiopia game

Uganda Crested Cranes head coach George Lutalo has summoned a provisional 27-player squad to start preparations ahead of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of National Qualifier games with Ethiopia.

The squad mainly comprises of players that featured at the just concluded COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.

Fazila Ikwaput, who missed the COSAFA Championship due to injury has also been summoned.

While eight players have been promoted from the Uganda U20 Women’s National Team that defeated Kenya in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

According to FUFA, the team will enter camp on Tuesday at the Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi before traveling to FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Wednesday.

In the second qualifying phase, Uganda will face Ethiopia, with the first leg scheduled for 20th October 2021 at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The return leg will happen less than a week after the first leg and will take place in Bahir Dar.
